SO, it has just been confirmed by the FAQ that was released a few hours ago that characters made in CBT2 will be permanent and will not be wiped. Which means, we have no more time to experiment or to mess around. We need to confirm everyone's planned school, manufacture profession, and culture profession ASAP.

According to me you must have misunderstood something. Characters of the closed beta ll be wiped at the end of all CBT stages. Characters that won't be wiped for the official release of the game are those that ll be created during the early access. And the CBT2 isn't the early access. So i guess that there ll be another closed or open beta stage before the early access and in this stage characters from the CBT2 ll remain but ll be wiped at the end of this 3rd beta stage.

I think Earthquake has been quite clear about it.

Second, a decision has been made to allow all players to retain their CBT 2 character progression into 2013. Select your path carefully on December 20th, because the character you create will forevermore be your window into the Jianghu.

I'm pretty sure they didn't put that word in there just to mess us up. And besides, there is no time for a CBT3. February 1 is OBT, which is only 3 weeks after the end of CBT2 on January 9th. Besides, and Earthquake has made absolutely no mention of another closed beta period. As further prove that characters will not be wiped after CBT2, Earthquake tells us that the VIP time promised to those of us who bought packages will be activated as soon as we enter CBT2. He says it here.

Since CB2 character progress will be not be wiped, Elite, E3, NYCC, and Deluxe Edition package members will begin to enjoy their packaged VIP time as soon as they log in to CB2.

The early access was supposed to last for 90 days. They can't decide to change this after selling and advertising for an early access of 90 days. I m not an expert in American laws but at least you can't advertise for somethind and sell it if what is said in the advertisement isn't true in my country. So if the CBT2 last only 19 days then they ll still owe us 71 days of early access.

Anyway, at any case if they keep those characters for release then i won't be able to test other schools... So i guess that i ll keep a Scholar character for CBT2.

@tao: I think you're misunderstanding something here. They WILL give us all 90 days of 'early access.' It's just that 20 of those days are now technically 'open access.' On February 1, when they re-open the servers, we will still have 71 days of exclusive access (well, as exclusive as we can trust Snail about it lol). It's because people were complaining that 90 days of exclusive access was too long, so they technically lowered the number of exclusive access days by combining the effective period with CBT2.

Imo, I hate this decision. But well, looks like they've made up their mind. So, yea

My question is, don't you guys think we need to do a bit of job balancing?
Out of all 11 respondents:
Manufacture: 3 cooks, 3 herbalists, 2 blacksmith, 1 goldsmith, 1 poison maker, 1 weaponsmith
Culture: 3 weiqi players, 3 calligrapher, 1 musician, 0 painters, 4 unknowns

Not that we had time to experiment and find out what a good ratio would be :S (darn them and their permanent CBT2)

I thought the 90 days early access will start from Feb straight 90 days (3months) into May? What is this 71 days o.O?

Hmmm actually, good question. I'd thought that shifting the VIP period to the start of CBT2 also meant shifting the 90 days of exclusive access to the start of CBT2. But in that case, that would mean they'd 'eaten up' the 20 days of exclusive access that used to be CBT2. I'm asking about it on the forums atm. But the mods don't work on the weekends meh, so we'd have to wait till at least tmr to hear a reply.

I can change from weiqi player to painter if needed. But i won't change from the cook job because i may be the only one online at certain times of the day because of me living in France which is GMT+1. So i ll need to have some food ready while that i m playing. And i don't want to buy it from players

I was planning on sending bread to people, so that they could be free to take whatever manufacture job they actually wanted to do (and was hoping to get all chefs to do that), but if you really want to be a chef then that's cool too Well, I think for now, we can wait a few days to see what the 4 unknowns choose as their culture profession, and then decide from there   Thanks for the offer =)

My main is still herbalist, so I will do a pass on items/recipes that other members require for their manufacturing. If there are spares, then I will roll on them for my alts.

I've always been a guy  Konoka haha ..
Wanted to make Emei in CBT1 that's why I made girl character.
I'm actually thinking of either Emei or Wanderer, but since no one rolls Wanderer, I'll take it :p
