I was previously a guildie in Einsof back in the early days of GW2, not sure if anyone of the members currently playing this game would remember me.

But as for this game, currently is there any (good) particular guide that legacy players can recommend to me so I can read up like a n00b, in order to prepare myself for what's ahead? *ps* gonna for the lancer/dragoon route

Already used the benchmark system to create a highlander, waiting for the Final Phase to start before I can actually apply for beta.

With luck, I hope I will be able to see some old friendly faces.

Game's pretty new... And it's quite easy to pick up as well. Last I played Lancer in Phase 3, it was a class that require positioning (flank, back) to deal maximum damage.

ahhhhh, I see I see....very typical positioning.

I was more worried that this game may have followed the structure of WoW's class skill system build or like it's profession. If it doesn't then....I strongly believe that it would really be easy to pick up.

Also such things as, racial stats and stuff affect the jobs you choose. E.g, one might choose role of a tank but choose lalafells (which are lacking in str/vit ) because they look way better.

There are no skill trees like WoW in FFXIV, reason being that you can play and level all classes with just one character without the need to create alts. There are also no skill points to add to skills, and you automatically acquire new skills as you level up. It is also possible to cross-class skills eg. GLA using a ARC debuff, Venemous Bite.

Racial stats are negligible and are only there as a form of lore aspect, eg. Lalafells have a small built, which would also mean that they would be more swift and nimble, therefore a slightly higher dex. Moreover, you would start gaining stat points from level 10 onward to add into any stat that you want, according to your class, of course.

The only thing that you should take note if you are playing a Lalafell tank would be to be aware when your healer is casting an AoE heal. Sometimes it's hard to see where a Lalafell tank is due to their small build. You can even create a Roegadyn CNJ/THM, but I have heard that they look horrible in magician robes lol. And finally, there are no racial skills in ARR.

Significant P4 and Early Access notes:

- Character data (Gil, EXP, whatnot) will be carried over from P4 to Official release.

- Arcanist will be playable from P4.

- P4 starts at 5pm (+8 GMT) on August 16 for P3 testers, 17 August for new players.

- Fishing will be available in P4.

- Transfer of items and Gil from character to character within the same account and same server will not be possible. This is to prevent RMT activities.

-Content in P4 is capped at level 20.

-Racial stats are negligible even at level 50. The difference will be very small.

Other notes:

- Game time cards will be available in forms of 30 days and 60 days. Not confirmed if it will be available in Singapore convenience stores.

If you are not able to join Masamune now, please try again later. Character creation has been TEMPORARILY halted on several servers. They will be opened again gradually. Meanwhile, some of us already managed to get on to Masamune. We will be waiting for you. :)

You can sign up for beta phase 4 most probably on the 17th at 0900 GMT. Just go to http://entry.ffxiv.com/beta/index_na.html if your SE account is NA, or http://entry.ffxiv.com/beta/index_en.html if it's EU. Account region does not affect what servers you can play. It only affects the type of payment methods and game box region that you can apply on it.

For those who are still not able to get into Masamune, please be patient and try again. The server was opened earlier this morning at 2AM GMT+8 till 8AM GMT+8, closed again from 8AM GMT+8 to 9AM GMT+8 and opened again at 9AM GMT+8. This simply means they will open the server periodically.

For those already on Masamune, the linkshell has been created. Please kindly PM Einzo Hattori, Ismenia Acker, A'vize Ro or Kobato Chan for an invite. Thanks!

Oh and Hi shootie.. didn't see your post earlier. :X
