Title: How long it takes
Post by: capriken on December 29, 2012, 07:07:06 AM
Just a heads-up for people who want to invest time and effort in being self sufficient.

Detailed breakdown of 6 characters:
* (Main) Herbalist: Chess, Mining, Hunting, Fishing, Farming, Woodcutting.
* Cook: Hunting, Fishing, Farming.
* Tailor: Hunting, Farming.
* Blacksmith: Mining, Woodcutting.
* Poisonmaker: Fishing, Farming.
* Craftsman: Musician, Mining, Woodcutting.

Playing 6 characters each with at least 2 gathering skill, cultural skill, manufacturing trade; plus doing 5 spying missions and 2 rounds of TP for the main character takes about 6 to 7 hours daily. Add a run of TV common and 6 runs of any influence, that may easily take up to 8 to 10 hours daily.

Recommended way of capping daily skill limit:
* Herbalist: Apprentice task plus manufacturing medicine.
* Cook: Apprentice task plus gem game.
* Tailor: Apprentice task plus manufacturing clothing.
* Blacksmith: Apprentice task plus gem game.
* Poisonmaker: Apprentice task plus manufacturing poison.
* Craftsman: Apprentice task plus gem game.

As you guys may have noticed, the life skills double exp bonus has ended. As time is a precious commodity, I went on to gauge the number of times we have to farm/mine/practise before reaching the daily limit for that respective life skill.

Farming: 36 to 39 seeds + skillbook (apprentice task)
Mining: 14 to 18 clicks + skillbook
Woodcutting: 14 to 18 clicks + skillbook
Fishing: 14 to 18 clicks + skillbook
Hunting: 14 to 18 clicks + skillbook

Musician: 6 to 10 practises of 65 exp + skillbook
Chess: 6 to 8 practises of average 130 exp + skillbook
Scholar: 10 to 14 practises of 35 exp + skillbook
Painter: 10 to 14 practises of 35 exp + skillbook

When I have time, I will go and time the average time spent per activity.
