It seems like you are in the wrong stance. You can use Lightning Orb follow up only if you are in Lightning stance. In fact you should not need to change out of Lightning except for 100% constantly moving targets such as bees in MHT. It should be very possible to use the follow up even with high ping. I play with 200+ms constantly.

1) You should be able to fit in one Lambent Bolt and then use the Lightning Orb follow up. If there is no LO follow up, you're in the wrong stance or your ping is too high to play the game properly.
2) Not that I know of
3) Always prioritise over normal skills.

Some information in case there's still confusion over the servers:
The 14 June release is for the Asian servers, which supports SG, MY, PH (?), TW, JP regions. It will have English support along with Traditional Mandarin and Japanese languages. So far, Indonesia, Korea and China are blocked, but there are plans for a China release, probably by another publisher, which might also be the case for Indonesia. Korea is blocked obviously as they have the game already.
There is no exact date for the Global servers, but it will likely cover all other regions that do not have the game yet. To check if you are included in the Asia server is to see if you can pre-register. If the site does not show 14 June and you can't pre-register, it means you are excluded from the Asia server. The website is an umbrella website for all regions, essentially those staying in Korea will have the website shown to them in Korean with the same URL.
This is not an entirely new concept and has been done in Seven Knights (also under Netmarble). Eventually, maintenance downtimes will likely be synced across Global and Asia clients.
Again, we are in Giran01, Asia server.

Some tips:
1. Adena (gold) might seem to come easily at first. Later on you need a ton of it so don't be fooled . Turn off auto-pot to save gold. Save soulshots for difficult dungeons.
2. Gear have different grades; C, B, A, S, R, SR, UR. To get higher grade, you need to fuse two level 30 gear of the same grade, or fuse one level 30 gear with armor/weapon/accessory ingots, which I wouldn't recommend for non-Rares below R-grade. More on rares later.
In general, story quest easily gives you up to B grade. To get A grade, you need to fuse B grades or get them from calendar login (unsure if global have this function lol).
To get UR, you need 500 of armor/weapon crafting item with a UR blueprint. Takes forever lol.
2. There's two kind of equipment: normal and rare. Rares have a blueish/purplish aura in their thumbnail icon, and can be gotten BY CHANCE through fusing two A grades, or above. Therefore, fusing As for a chance of getting rare S grade is the cheapest way to gamble for rare.
For rares, I do not know if it is worth to chiong normal gear since it's cheaper or gamble for rares. Later on, you can up your gear level to 30+ up till 40. To do that, you need another rare level 30, so you can see how expensive this is going. Rares are important for people who are gonna hardcore PvP.
Also, a SR rare level 30 is gonna lose out to a SR normal level 30+.
3. Rare armor only has one set, and it has PvP stats. Rare weapon has two kinds, one PvE and one PvP. So you can see for PvE-centric players, normal will suffice.
4. There is recommended power rating for each level. Your character also have ratings like gear (C, B, A, S, R, SR rating). Power rating comes from many factors like your skill level, your character level, your gear, etc. In general, if you feel that you are popping too much pots just to clear simple kill quests, it means that you need to pause leveling and work on your gear or work on your Monster Atlas. Usually this happens when your character rating is B or C grade.
5. Monster Atlas is basically the main grind of this game. You need to kill monsters to get Monster Cores. After gathering a certain amount of Monster Cores, that monster entry in the Atlas will go up in level, giving you some stats that can also boost your power rating. If you plan to go afk for long hours, you can consider grinding out your Monster Atlas. I would recommend to farm Monster Atlas with passive stats that is good for your class.
6. Continuing from above, chionging level is not everything in this game. Chiong too fast and the game whacks you in the face. Recommended is to really slow down after level 80, but tbh, at around level 30 you will find that you can't just eat all the boss attacks anymore.
7. At beginning levels, you will get a shitton of C-grade gear and feedstock. Feed them into gear of up to A grade only, nothing higher than that or your gold will disappear like your monthly pay :<
8. Main quest is pretty important. It unlocks game features and new map areas. However, these are level capped, and sometimes you will find that you cannot continue with MSQ since your level is too low. That's why dailies are important.
9. Dailies are in the form of dungeons or monster kill quests. Dungeons should be done first, shouldn't take too long (except for elite dungeon). Monster kill quests are the least time-efficient since you need to kill large amounts of mobs and should be left at the back of daily routine. However, these quest give quite a lot of EXP. Some people don't even do those quests since they feel that they are weak for their level.
If you are doing your flower gathering dungeon, drink an Einhasad Blessing potion as it adds 200% exp to gathering and hunting exp. After flower gathering, do the monster kill quests (blue coloured).

Nice guide for Swordmage, this one seems old but still working effectively.Quote from: eXzo on November 21, 2016, 12:35:50 PM
why do u always spec in resource generation and regain Elements
is it really better than
3 in Angel Fire Monster dmg (45% more dmg against monster)
2 in Elemental Stance Monster dmg (everything deals 10% more dmg vs mosnter)
3 in Elemental Attack in Thunder Stance 15% more dmg
last 2 points in Sudden Thunder for 15% more dmg or in Star Sword for 15% more dmg....
so all your skills deal 10% more dmg.... and angelfire even 10% + 45% and Elemantal Attack 10% + 15% and Sudden Thunder or Star Sword also 10% + 15%
do u really think resours are better than all that dmg.... even ur combo skills do 10% more dmg
In my opinion, I think because it's better to be able to generate quickly unparalleled skills ressources (Dragon & Phoenix) to use them ASAP when CD is up, instead of waiting to have enough unparalleled skills ressources to use them.
I have since updated my guide, that's why there's a duplicate thread. I forgot to lock this haha.
Anyway, the final Arcane Arts for 49 is modified somewhat, adding in slightly more damage, removed elements generation (provided you don't stance switch since you're high ping player and stuff), etc. Check my newest guide to know more. I'll be locking this thread.

Level 1-20: No choice but to follow story quest till you complete solo Darkfall
After 20:

Press V, blue tab, and unlock the first row. This allows you to use storage, set up stall stand, and increases your Scour Dungeon cap.
You get a variety of quests. You will want to focus on Orange (tutorial) > Dailies (U button) > Purple (recommended to do when you're waiting for people) > Yellow (main quest).
Orange quest is important as it unlocks important features of the game. Make sure to check your quest log for available Orange quests often as you might miss them.
Dailies are your main chunk of activity/exp/income source. It is best to complete all dailies in U button everyday. But if you are not able to: Guild Daily > Demonslaying > Guardian Trials > Darkfall Daily (if you still have it) > Four Kings > Scour Dungeon > Hot Spring > Poacher's Market.
For on-the-ball players, if you are looking for more, do everything (or as much as possible since its a mix of PvP, group, small events, etc) in the O menu.

Hello
We are no longer in Monster Hunter Online. As of now, there's barely any English players in MHO.

Hi, welcome. CBT 1 is slated for a 2 week duration, and CBT 1 keys can work for CBT 2 as compensation for the CBT 1 delay.
