SINGAPORE: The Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) has fined the three mobile operators S$10,000 each for not meeting Quality of Service (QoS) Standard.
M1, SingTel and StarHub did not comply with the QoS Standard for nationwide outdoor areas for 3G mobile telephone services in September 2012.
Under the QoS standard, at least 99 per cent service coverage must be provided.
In its decision, IDA took into consideration the more stringent QoS standard for outdoor service coverage, which was recently increased on 1 April 2012.
It said the mobile operators did not comply because they included new testing areas that were accessible largely by foot only.
IDA said this is a more stringent measurement, compared with past tests that relied primarily on nationwide drive tests.

Will our 3G/ 4G network improve after this? Or just wayang? :P
I hope it will. Imagine 3G suddenly get cut off while using GPS when driving ==
